you arrived
an apparition
spilling the sun between your fingers
in a world that had never seen the dawn
(this reality does not belong
with you in it)
my fist uncurled
you pressed into my palm
the star in its entirety
my soul unfurled
awakened to witness my burning
(i can no longer call it my own,
not since you called it by name)
you sailed through waves of flame
and slept by hearths of ice
you taught me that flight
was unnecessary
just trample the skies
beneath your feet
it is the ground that drifts
beyond your reach
(you are, and are not,
a contradiction)
ghosting always
past my periphery
you lived
in shattered mirrors
reflected

thorn by thorn, they grow,
invading old forests with new:
steel-framed trunks
crowd the concrete,
sprouting grey in place of green.
they conquer the earth,
brick by blood-red brick.
wheels of vehicles,
the new steeds,
grind the meadows;
they scar with skid-marks
the oil-black asphodel,
to leave billowing
behind them
a poisoned breath,
breath that asphyxiates,
and in its avarice, raids
the sylph-cleared paths,
robs them of their purity,
alters, too, the clarity
of the sea.
but the creatures thrive.
in wonder, they boast
of better claws and teeth
with which to reshape
the landscape,
to plant a modern eden

So you miiiight've noticed that my gallery loks a little bare. As in, it only has 2 devs left. Well I sorta went on a scrapping spree to clean out the gallery and start fresh. Why? Just because. 8D
Which means that I'll be starting the 100 Devs Challenge aaall over again. :XD: (Whch will never be completed in the next 100 years, I might add.)
Anyway, I'll be going to Malaysia for a 5-week holiday
I would just like to personally thank you so much for faving "Goose Pond Inspirations #3" and celebrating my first Daily Deviation feature with me, Mandy! It was a pleasant surprise and I sincerely appreciate your support. Thank you!
